9 times out of 10 - NO. Website designers focus on the look and functionality of your website and most do not have the expertise in Search Engine Optimization to put techniques in place that provide better rankings.

“I’ve submitted my site to search engines. Isn’t that enough?”

All but Google charge for express inclusion service. However, these fees do not guarantee any specific rankings. Without proper optimization, chances are your listing will be so far down, no-one will find it.

“My website designer included keywords, but I still don’t get any hits. Why?”

Due to abuse by spammers, very few search engines put weight on the Keyword META tag anymore. And, competition is fierce on many keywords. A good Search Engine Campaign will start by analyzing keywords, competition and revealing keywords that your customers are actually using. Keywords have to be placed elsewhere than in the keyword <META tag> (a programming code “invisible” to the visitor, but seen by the Search Engines).
